Ginger Snaps
by Cathy Cassidy
Ginger is in a deep pool of puppy fat and pigtails which she trades in for make-up and hair straighteners when she meets Shannon, her new (and first) best friend. Ginger than has to walk and talk like Shannon but it does get her to be more popular which she loves.
Ginger and Shannon befriend the lonely Emily and help to make her more popular and glamorous like themselves. The plan was that they would ditch her when she got her own (cool) friends but Shannon wanted her to stick around and Ginger became jealous. Soon Ginger finds out that Shannon was never her real friend… Emily and the saxophone playing boy whom Shannon does not approve of are.
Not only is this a great read but unlike most novels, the events are mostly unpredictable. I’ve read a few of Cathy Cassidy’s novels and they were all as equally great. Not to mention the covers are pretty sick.
